2006 Alois Lageder Cabernet Sauvignon Cor

The 2006 Cor Romigberg is impressive on this vintage. Dark red berries, plums, grilled herbs, licorice and cedar are some of the many notes that flow from this deeply expressive, totally convincing wine. The 2006 boasts gorgeous depth, power and finesse. Mocha, new leather and tar are some of the notes that flesh out on the finish, adding further layers of complexity.
Cor Romigberg is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a dollop of Petit Verdot from a vineyard in Caldaro, on the southern side of Alto Adige. Anticipated maturity: 2014- 2021.

Alois Lageder now has two distinct ranges. The Alois Lageder wines are made from purchased fruit, while the Tenutae Lageder wines are made from estate-owned vineyards, many of which are farmed biodynamically.

2008 Alois Lageder Chardonnay Lowengang

The 2008 Chardonnay Lowengang emerges from the glass with expressive layers of varietal, tropical fruit underpinned by vibrant acidity. The weight of these old vines, which range from 25-65 years of age, comes through beautifully in the wine’s depth and nuance. Hints of French oak frame the expressive, creamy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015.

2007 Alois Lageder Tannhammer

The 2007 Tannhammer (Chardonnay/Sauvignon) flows across the palate with expressive fruit. The combination of Chardonnay and Sauvignon works especially well here, as the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Juicy apricots, peaches, flowers, mint and spices
flow through effortlessly to the generous, creamy finish. I especially like the way the wine continues to develop in the glass.
